Highlights of my day: May 31st

I'm really sorry for the lack of posts.
I've been a bit busy and I'm trying to plan ahead for some posts.
Since I haven't been very proactive so I just have a quick post today.
Today I went shopping with some friends and picked up a few things.

I bought some nail polishes at Urban Outfitters for 2 for $8.
I really liked this makeup bag I bought at forever 21 for $6.80.
And lastly I finally tried the "cotton candy frappuccino" (vanilla bean frappuccino with a pump of raspberry syrup) and I have to say it was really tasty!
That's all for today, I'll try to post more often.

Quotes

My plan was to post a "Mani Monday" but I decided to give my nails a break.
I found this quote on Pinterest and it caught my attention.
I hope you don't mind my little detour from beauty.

See you next time!

May Empties #2

So as I said, I'm doing another empties post today! This is empties #2.
Most of the products were bought when I used to purchase fairly cheap brands.
I finished 2 mascaras. The Maybelline one by one and Bonne Bell mascara in denim. Last year I decided I wanted blue mascara for no reason. It wasn't my favorite. I really liked the one by one, it gives natural full lashes!
I completely finished my nyc smooth skin powder in translucent.
This wasn't my favorite. There was no color pay-off (which I expected) and it didn't totally "mattify" my face.
I finished the elf eyelid primer which I didn't like. I think it was just the one I got because it dried up very fast.
I also used up the nyc brow/eyeliner pencil in black. It was okay, not the best pencil liner.
And one of my favorite eyeshadows, Rimmel London in 102 backstage.
I've already repurchased this since it's not very usable. It's super pigmented and long lasting.

Stila Lip Glazes: Review

I purchased a lip glaze trio a month or two ago and I've had the time to test it out.
The box said $12 but The actual price was $16. Go figure.
I got the box in the shade "flower power" the bright colors and floral packaging attracted me.
The three colors from top to bottom are: Peach blossom, pink orchid, Lilac.
Very springy names!
I am sad to say I was actually disappointed with this product. There was lots of hype about it.
I find when you twist the dispenser a few times no product comes out. When you twist it more, product excessively flows out. In about  2 uses, the tube was 1/3 done.
As for the consistency, it was very sticky. My lips stuck together and I couldn't move them much. The colors were beautiful but I don't think I will be repurchasing this anytime soon.
That's all for today, sorrry for not posting yesterday, I've been a bit busy.
I'll try to post empties #2 tomorrow!

May Empties #1

Hey everyone!
So I have been collecting my empty products for a few months now so I thought I'd share.
I'll do one or two empties posts a week since there are way too many to feature in one post.
Today I'll show you the hair products I've used up, and I talk a little bit about what I thought of them.

First things I finished were my John Frieda brilliant brunette lustrous touch shampoo and conditioner. I found the shampoo didn't lather very well and it felt very drying. As for the conditioner, It didn't really do anything for my hair. These were a bit more expensive (and only 250 ml) than most drugstore hair products and I will not repurchase these.
I completely finished the dove dry shampoo. I find this did a great job of soaking up oil and adding volume. This left little white residue although it did leave some. I would repurchase this and it's around $5.
The last hair product I finished was the ion deep repair hair treatment. I actually finished 2 packages. I bought this a Sally beauty supply for only about $1. It worked okay, but it didn't really compare to my tresemme hair mask. I most likely wouldn't repurchase this.
That's all for now, I'll try my best to get at least 1 more empties post up this week!
Bye!

Mani Monday: Under Where?

Hey guys!
I thought since I missed last week's Mani Monday, I'd do one today.
Today wasn't my best day for painting nails. I kept denting, scratching and rubbing the nail polish.
Very annoying, but I added a few top coats.
So this polish has actually been featured on my blog twice (sorry)!
I really like the color. While it was fairly opaque, I still felt the need to use 2 coats.
It's a bit of a pink-toned purple.
(sorry for the chip on my middle finger)
That's all for today.
Keep your eyes peeled for a possible empties post tomorrow!

Bath and Body Works Haul

I meant to post this yesterday but I didn't have time, sorry.
Yesterday I went to Bath and Body Works because I had a coupon for spend $15 get a free fragrance.
I decided to get 3 minis for $10 since I also got soap I had enough for the free fragrance.
I got the tiny size body lotion in Rome Honeysuckle Amore. It smells really sweet and peachy.
Then I got the Carried away mini shower gel because I had heard many good things about the scent.
I can't describe scents but the Bath and Body Works website can and it says: Raspberries, white jasmine, and vanilla which is pretty much what it smells like.
My favorite thing I got was the mini Honey sweetheart body mist. The bottle is the prettiest thing ever. It's a really sweet floral scent.
I got the full size Beautiful Day body mist and I believe this is a newer scent. It's smells like citrus, fruit and a hint of floral.
Last but not least I got the travel size Venice Dolce Berry body mist which is a very summery fruit scent.
I can't get over this packaging.
Bye for now!

Affordable nail polish dupes

Hey guys!
So I was looking through my nail polishes and I found a couple Sally Hansen dupes for Essie!
You can tell they aren't "exact" dupes but they are very similar.
The first pair are a red toned coral that is very bright. The Essie polish is the slightest bit darker.
Sally Hansen: Mighty Mango
Essie: Come Here!
As you can see the swatches are very similar. The Sally Hansen polish is on the left and the Essie on the right. (please ignore the other swatches)
Sally Hansen is about $2 at most drugstores and Essie is about $7-10.
My flash made these colors appear more grey. they're actually a lavender color.
Sally Hansen: No Hard Feelings
Essie: Under Where?
Again, the Sally polish is on the right, Essie on the left.
This time the Sally polish is the slightest bit darker than Essie.
As for comparison on formula, Essie is a bit more creamy and the Sally Hansen feels thinner.
I needed 1-2 coats for Essie and 1-3 for Sally Hansen.

That's it for today, I apologize for not posting everyday.
I was thinking of maybe adding some organizational posts and maybe even some smoothie recipes. Let me know what you think, and if you think  I should stick to Beauty, Thanks!

My bag essentials

Hello! Sorry for the lack of posts.
Today I'm doing a what's in my bag!
I never really use the same bag, I'm always back and forth. I need a new bag anyways so that's why the bag isn't shown.
If I have a large bag I do like to fill it with unnecessary things, but I usually just bring a small one and this is what I'd pack.
Here I have my wallet, sunglasses, paper, Kleenex, and a few makeup products.
My sunglasses are from target and I just have a bath and body works tangerine hand sanitizer. I love bringing hand sanitizer in case I eat or just need clean hands. And of course, my sunglasses are in case the sun is in my eyes, or just to hide my face!
I have this little paper and pen set in case I need to write a list or remember something, and I have tissues for the obvious.
I don't like keeping too much makeup in my bag because I don't find myself touching up very often. All I keep are a few lip products and concealer. I have here and eos lip balm, nyx gloss, covergirl concealer, and L'Oreal color riche balm.
That concludes my bag essentials!
Sorry for the change of backgrounds. I am still experimenting with what I like best. I was also playing with the lighting in these photos.

Favorite drink

Taking the topic off beauty for a day and showing you my favorite drink!
It's based on the Starbucks passion tea lemonade but it can be made at home.
Starbucks (or at least the one I went to) uses syrups to create this drink but I found a recipe on Pinterest to make it a little more natural.
All you'll need is:
Tazo passion tea bags
Boiling water
Lemonade
Ice (optional)
It's actually pretty easy to make! All I do is steep the tea for 10 minutes then chill it. Then I add 1 part cold tea, 1 part lemonade and ice in a shaker. I shake it up and pour it in a glass. I find the Starbucks drink to be overly sweetened and I actually prefer the homemade version.

Lush lip scrub

So today I'm going to be doing a review on the lush lip scrub.

I like the idea of the scrub but I don't love the product.
It claims to gently exfoliate dead skin but I don't think it does the job.
I found it drys my lips out. After I use this my lips feel almost flakey-er.
My friend had the same opinion.

I also find this product to be very overpriced.
It's $10 for sugar, flavor and oils. It's only about a tablespoon of sugar and this can easily be made at home.
Keep in mind that these are just my opinions and I know others may like this product. :)
Bye!

Huge Nyx Sale Haul

So today I found a HUGE nyx sale at the drugstore. There were 2 boxes full of lip glosses, pigments, and eye shadows. These products are usually $6-10 each. The glosses and shadows were on sale for $1.96 and the pigments were $1.56! I scooped up a bunch and here it is!

As you can see, I went a little overboard... Some of these however are gifts for friends. For myself, I got 2 lip glosses, 4 eye shadows, and 7 pigments, the rest are for friends.
Here are the names of the eye shadows in the same order as the photo above. I'm not going to write them all out since there are so many I just hope you can read the names.
These were the only colors of lip glosses left. I got a sparkly red/brown (plum) and a shimmery light pink (gold mauve).
And finally, here are the names of most of the pigments, for some reason the photo got cut off.
That's all for today, Bye!

Target Haul

So today I went to Target for the first time which was amazing! There were lot's of new things I'd never seen before. I filled my basket and already can't wait to go back.
It's a bit of a longer post today due to the pictures.

Here's most of the stuff I bought. I also bought some clothes but I might do a different post on that.
Here's and overview of what I got.
The skincare items I purchased
From left to right: Simple eye makeup remover, St. Ives fresh skin apricot exfoliating scrub, Clean & Clear cream cleanser, Simple cleansing face wipes.
Left to right: Covergirl BB cream, TRESemme strengthening dry shampoo, Dove deodorant, up&up shave gel, Sonia Kashuk  limited edition kabuki
Close up of BB cream
I needed a new BB cream and I chose this covergirl one. It was around $8.
The only thing I dislike that I didn't realize when I bought it, is that it doesn't have SPF which is important during the warm months.
I got the sonia kashuk brush couture kabuki. The main reason I went to target was to check out sonia kashuk. I like the pattern and I believe this brush is limited edition.

That's all for today, I'm not sure if I'll make a post on the clothing or not.
Bye!
